Why have a project specific preservation strategy;

* Consistent equipment, systems and spares preservation across all project vendors, OEM’s. Controlling the preservation procedures means robust corrosion protection between manufacture and commissioning – this can be anything from 1-4 years.

* No surprises. When preservation is managed properly over the project lifecycle then corrosion is controlled and equipment is fit-for-purpose at the commissioning phase. Costs associated with equipment failure are eliminated and so are time delays and run over.

* Preservation management is an integral part of the project and a dedicated resource such as Preservation Project Manager, Preservation Specialist is essential, whether this discipline is in-house or from a specialist Preservation Contractor.

* Preservation management, when adopted by the Project Team, is similar to an insurance policy that mitigates risk against corrosion. We have read so many horror stories where poor housekeeping during the project lifecycle has resulted in delays and disproportionate costs to the client
